About the event
Originally developed as a piano trio concert for the Australian Piano Pedagogy Conference, Songs from the Great South Land is Mark Simeon Ferguson’s tribute to the great pop, rock and light classical songs of Australia. For one night only the concept explodes adding the might of jazz staff James Muller, Lyndon Gray and Dustan Cox and the thrilling voices of the Adelaide Connection to the piano trio. Works by Percy Grainger, Elena Kats-Chernin, Nick Cave, Silverchair and Kylie will be reimagined through jazz eyes in an exploration of the sounds of Australia.
